Historic Dairy farms have become part of the landscape.
Barns are now preserved as part of history. Cows were very much present at that time of the photo. They have been relocated since, ending a 150-year tradition.
I come to Point Reyes often—to volunteer for conservation of wildlife, photograph wildlife or just spend time in nature with family. Sunrise and sunset bring out the best of the place with dramatic foggy or pink skies, against blue Pacific Ocean and rolling hills.
The area is often foggy and loud with lively wildlife sounds. By sunset, when most outdoor enthusiasts leave, it gets still.
On this afternoon of mid-February I was returning from my birding hike on the Abbott’s Lagoon trail. The sun started to set, and painted skies pastel against the hazy air.
